Gloves

Today I had a feeling that I must ride to keep up with last year's schedule. Not a good idea of course but okay I did it. I rode the same course as yesterday. But back in town I went straight instead turn left. It is 600 meters longer. Not the way to keep with last years schedule. One year ago I cycled 172 kilometers at the end of this day.
It was a lot colder than yesterday, appr. 0 degrees C. I rode with my ordinary gloves.

2nd tour

The Russian cold is certainly coming this way but we had very mild temperatures today so I can't complain about that. Maybe the drizzle and the wind after 3 kilometers was annoying. rode 15 with the wind in my back and then felt the fierce wind, no it was more a pressure which made it difficult to cycle. It was like the bike's wheels went through mud or something. It was a restistance which made the way home difficult.

THE START OF 2006

It was an unclouded sky but only, 0 degrees C.
I took my bike and checked the tyres if they were okay to ride.
The tyres needed some pressure but overall I thought an easy ride would be possible.
At 2.15 pm I rode against the cold light breeze along the canal to the south.
On my mind I had an 25 k/hr average.
20 minutes later I went up the dike on the north side of the river and went to a bridge cross the Lek.
15 minutes later I cycled through the historical centre of Vianen, really beautiful, and after a break on the south side of the dike I rode back the same way I came.

For the first time this year and after a break of nearly a month I like the ride without to much pressure on my mind.
